You will need

-

● Fern and monstera leaves, or similar

● Heavy book

● Kitchen paper

● Gold leaf

● Gilding glue

● Paintbrush

● Picture frames

1 Take your first leaf and place it between a few sheets of kitchen paper. Repeat with the other leaves.

2 With the leaves still in the kitchen paper, place them between the pages of a heavy book, leaving about 1cm of pages between each layer. Close the book and weigh it down with more books or something heavy on top. Leave somewhere warm and dry for a week or so.

3 When the leaves are flat and dry to the touch, carefully remove them from the book and the kitchen paper layers.

4 Brush a thin layer of gilding glue onto the tips of the leaves, and leave for a few minutes until tacky. Place gold leaf on the tacky areas, then carefully brush off the excess. Leave to dry before carefully placing the leaves inside the glass frames.
