Living room

‘Our living room is a mixture of modern and vintage, but colour is the driving force. It took us a while to get the look right though. Last year we got a professional decorator to do the downstairs rooms, as well as the hallway and landing. I chose a neutral warm white colour, but I hated it because it was so dull and lifeless. It might have looked good with lots of neutral furniture and a Scandi vibe, but it just felt wrong for our colourful look. Instead, we painted the walls in Loft White by Little Greene, a blue-based white which helps balance out the sunlight and looks a lot better.’
