Kitchen-diner

-

This space is the perfect spot for the family to spend time together, and the newly-fitted windows ensure that it is filled with natural light. Elizabeth has decorated the room with a mix of vintage furniture, pieces of china and freshly cut flowers from the garden for a pretty cottage vibe. ‘ The old chairs belonged to Mark’s parents,’ says Elizabeth. ‘I freshened them up with a lick of dark green paint, which brings a pop of colour to the dining table. I needed a bit of extra storage but I didn’t want fitted units, so I used some secondhand inherited pieces that I also painted.’

?? ?? ‘ The open-plan layout works really well for family life,’ says Elizabeth. ‘I can be cooking in the kitchen and keep an eye on the children while they play, watch TV or eat at the table. Everyone can do their own thing but still be connected in the one space’
