Suzie’s style tips
● If you have a narrow, dark hallway, create the illusion of space with a large statement wall mirror to help reflect light around the room.
● Adding a rug or runner will instantly make hard floors feel warm and welcoming. Choose a hardwearing style, ideally in a flat weave to minimise the risk of tripping. A washable design that’s hardy enough to withstand muddy shoes and children’s bikes is a practical choice. There are lots of indooroutdoor rugs available now that would work well.
● Create a welcoming mood with houseplants. If your hallway doesn’t get a lot of sun, go for low-light plants, such as a snake or spider plant, or invest in some faux plants that won’t need any watering.
You could also add a few drops of essential oils to create a pleasant smell to welcome you home.
