‘When we moved in, Mark and I treated ourselves to a new king-sized bed and invested in a high-quality mattress. Layoutwise, the bed fits nicely against the wall, with useful space either side. We painted the entire room, including the walls, ceiling and doors, in a soft pink to start with. Even though there’s a lot of natural light in here, the colour looked quite dull, so we went back to white. For interest, I added some colourblocking in a pale pink that I mixed myself from leftovers. The open shelf above the bed is a focal point and one of my favourite features. I’ve got keepsakes there, and things that have meaning for us, and I love styling and rearranging the different bits on display.’
