Make sure the look you’re aiming for really is ‘you’ and not someone else’s ideal. I love looking at dark interiors online, but I’ve now realised I don’t want to live with them in my own home.

For coloured paint, I prefer to spend money on a good-quality brand. To me, the colour is always truer than if you try to get a match mixed. I’ll balance things out by using budget white emulsion.
