QI would like to create a wooden panelled feature wall in my bedroom. What’s the best way to go about it?
AOlivia Crosher, Lead Interior Designer at Naturewall, offers her advice…
There are lots of different styles of wooden panelling, and depending on which look you choose, this is a project that you could complete in a weekend. Measure the width and height of the space you want to cover and sketch out your design details on the wall for accuracy, then again on paper to refer to later. Before installation, it’s important to prepare the wall and make sure it’s cleaned, sanded and primed. When it comes to choosing materials, we always recommend sourcing timber that is FSC-certified or reclaimed, in order to make your project more sustainable.
The most popular way to fix panels is by using a grab adhesive. There are also planks available that apply directly to the wall, such as our self-adhesive Peel and Stick collection. Simply peel away the backing paper from the tape strips and secure each plank to your wall. Another quick and easy option is to use a SlatWall panel that can simply be glued or screwed directly to your wall.
