Master bedroom

‘I wanted the bedroom to be our sanctuary. After a few years I started thinking about adding colour, but I still wanted the room to feel calm and relaxed so I chose Farrow & Ball’s Calamine. I balanced it by painting our bedside tables black and adding dark curtains, and then introduced splashes of yellow and velvet textures; it’s a bright colour but not overpowering, and these additions have made the room look much cosier and feel more luxurious. I didn’t want fussy lamps on the bedside table, so Lloyd put these pendant lights down from the loft and I had to catch them and say when they were at the right height.’
