You will need

-

● macramé 15cm hoop

● raffia

● scissors

● cotton 6mm rope

● glue gun

● black, white, brown and pink felt

● black yarn

● strong glue

1 First make the lion’s mane by cutting the raffia into lengths measuring about 20cm. Take a strand and fold in half. Place the looped end over the edge of the macramé hoop, fold it around, then pull the other ends through and pull tight. Continue to fold and loop the raffia strands around the hoop, pushing each length next to each other as you work your way around.

2 Next, make the lion’s face. Coil and glue the cotton rope into a circle measuring about 16cm in diameter – slightly bigger than the hoop. Cut out some eyes, cheeks, and a nose in felt, plus a mouth in black yarn, and then stick it all in place.

3 Glue the face to the raffia mane and leave to dry. Neatly trim any loose ends with scissors and stick a hook to the back to hang it up with.
