● Why not paint the ceiling? It’s an easy way to show off the room’s high proportions and the extra splash of colour will help brighten up the space. Highlight the original features by painting the coving, too.

● Use a vibrant vinyl for an easy update to cupboards, worktops, or even the floor. It’s budget-friendly, practical and makes a statement without being OTT.

● Create DIY open shelving by taking off the top cupboard doors and painting the interior. Open shelving will make the space feel bigger and it’s a great way to show off your fave kitchenware and create some much-needed interest.
