A BIT ABOUT ME

I’m Claire Brown, a photographer. I live here with my husband, Paddy, who is a building surveyor, and our two girls, Willow, aged three, and Bonnie Belle, six months, as well as our golden retriever, Rio.

WHERE I LIVE

Our home is a three-bedroom Victorian townhouse, near the south city centre of Dublin.

WHAT I WANTED TO CHANGE

We were keen to highlight the period features, starting with uncovering the original floorboards and exposing some of the brickwork. We wanted to freshen the whole place up by painting most of the walls white and putting our stamp on the rooms with pieces that are personal to us, along with vintage and high-street buys.

HOW I MADE IT MY OWN

As well as painting, replastering, rewiring and plumbing, we have re-done the kitchen and the family bathroom, and put in parquet flooring throughout. We’ve also just given our garden an overhaul.

MY FAVOURITE PART

I love spending time in the living room on our cosy Chesterfield-style sofa.

It’s the perfect piece of furniture as it’s stylish, luxurious and very comfortable.
