HOW TO WORK THIS LOOK

Let the juicy colours of stone fruit inspire an indulgent scheme

-

l Take your inspiration from opulent, overgrown gardens that are rich with rambling roses, lush foliage and plenty of wildlife hiding in the undergrowth. Choose floral patterns that feature butterflies, birds and beetles, or include these animals as motifs on accessories, such as cushions, hardware and candles.

l The key colour is rich cerise: a juicy tone inspired by stone fruit that’s huge in the fashion sphere this season. Cut through the sweetness with hints of orange and give depth to the effect with large swathes of dark green and plum.

l Accessorise the scheme with eccentric, maximalist touches. Pile on leopard print, tassels and plenty of velvet. Pre-loved pieces and vintage-style treasures will add to the moody Seventies vibe – why not upcyle them with gold leaf?
