A BIT ABOUT ME

I’m Katie Dawson, 37, a homeware designer, katie-alice.co.uk. I live here with my partner, Matt, 37, co-owner of the business, and our daughters, Delilah, four, and Coco, 10 months, plus our dog, Luna.

WHERE I LIVE

My home is a three-bedroom Victorian semi in Stamford, Lincolnshire. We moved here in 2016.

WHAT I WANTED TO CHANGE

The whole house was dark and dingy, and the back of the property needed a serious rework. The bathroom was totally unsuitable with a brick wall in front and a tiny window at the side.

HOW I MADE IT MY OWN

We created a big kitchen-diner by extending out into the garden while a roof lantern added light. We put a big new window in the bathroom and changed the sanitaryware. Then it was a case of bringing in vibrant colour on the walls and personalising the rooms with original artwork and accessories.

MY FAVOURITE PART

I love the kitchen-diner. I really enjoy cooking and baking, so it was important for me to have a big space. I also adore the hallway now that I finally have my pink wall.
