Delilah,s bedroom

‘We’re big fans of Japanese design and we had a fantastic trip there a few years ago, so a lot of the artwork in our bedroom is from Japan. I’ve had the vintage Ercol chair for years and I teamed it with a bright yellow cushion from John Lewis & Partners’ ‘ This used to be our bedroom before we had the kids and it’s at the back of the house. I wanted to make it a room that could grow with Delilah, and something she (and we) wouldn’t get bored with.’ Painting the walls in Farrow & Ball’s Peignoir was the starting point, while a Victorian-style metal bed ties in with the age of the house. ‘I wanted to do something different with one wall, and found some lovely Swedish wallpaper, Majvillan, with a range called Old Garden, which really appealed to me, and I found a rug to match. I wanted it to be a long-lasting room, but I was keen to add in fun elements for Delilah to enjoy now. I added a canopy over the bed, plus some cute cushions, including her favourite flower-shaped one from Dunelm.’

The Delissa quilt from Anthropologie was Katie’s statement buy for her Wilson bed from Next. She’s picked out some of the colours in accessories, as well as the rug from Roxy Rugs Decorating the IKEA bed with a canopy from Dunelm makes this a special space.
