‘Being an artist, I really love colour, but I’m not so keen on having too much in my home as I like a calm, cosy space. I was pleased that this house was already decorated in this lovely, muted colour as I would have chosen something like this myself, and it saved me a job. We splurged on the sofa as we wanted to invest in quality seating that would last, so we chose a classic style that will hopefully suit our future homes. I really wanted linen curtains but my budget wouldn’t stretch. Then I spotted a dust sheet that Augustin had brought home from work. At only £10 per large sheet, I knew it would give me the look I was after and the curtains I made from it actually look really expensive.'
