Dining area
Bring interest to a blank wall with a fire surround ‘I would have liked a bigger kitchen as we love entertaining, but we are lucky to have this big space for dining. When we first moved in, we had very little furniture as our last place was much smaller, but I’m a real bargain hunter and I’ve filled our home with lots of second-hand pieces. This large wooden table was only £80 on Facebook Marketplace, though it took me a few months to find because I had an idea of what I wanted and didn’t want to compromise. I love the slightly pared-back Japandi look so I’ve incorporated its core elements of nature, symmetry and texture into my scheme. I would love to paint the doors, but luckily the wood complements the look, as do the bespoke pieces of art I’ve created in monochrome tones.’
