Master bedroom

Although the back bedroom is smaller, Patricia and Patrick prefer this room for sleeping. ‘Living by the sea, you get a lot of wind at the front, so it’s quite nice to be at the back of the house, especially in winter,’ says Patricia. ‘Most people would place the bed facing the window, but you would walk right into the side of it. I think it gives the illusion of more space by turning it the other way. It might be a bit squashed in, but it feels cosy, and it meant we could have two bedside tables and lamps. There’s also room for a walkway area and a chest of drawers to make it feel more spacious.’
