A BIT ABOUT ME

I’m Ruth Stow, 38, a university lecturer. I live with my partner, Alex, also 38, a tree officer, and our two cats, Peggy Sue and Alfie. You can see our renovation on my Instagram page @littleterraceoncherrystreet.

WHERE I LIVE

My home is a two-bed Victorian terraced cottage in Warwick, West Midlands. I moved here in July 2018.

WHAT I WANTED TO CHANGE

Putting back or renovating some of the original features and adding character was important to me. I wanted to make sure we were warm and cosy, so I added a wood-burner in the dining room and restored the fireplace in the master bedroom.

HOW I MADE IT MY OWN

I brought in plenty of rich colours and teamed it with lots of wood for warmth, in the flooring, the worktop and the new table and chairs, as well as investing in a few handmade one-off items like the bathroom vanity unit.

MY FAVOURITE PART

It’s a tie between the living room and the master bedroom. The living room is totally ‘me’ with the dark feature wall colour, and I love the pink panelling in our bedroom.
