A BIT ABOUT ME

I’m Maddy Kimberley and I work for a marketing agency. I live with my boyfriend, Keeran Sangha, who works in logistics, and our rescue dog, Dobby, who we adopted in Crete.

WHERE I LIVE

My home is a one-bed flat in a converted Victorian factory in Leicester and I bought it in December 2018. I share my renovation journey on Instagram @sailorandscout.

WHAT I WANTED TO CHANGE

The shabby brown kitchen was falling apart, the yellowing laminate flooring had black stains from flooding so the boards were disintegrating, and the hallway and bedroom had a nasty stained carpet. The whole place really needed some love and attention.

HOW I MADE IT MY OWN

I laid new flooring throughout, replaced the old kitchen units with a neutral but stylish white design, and then I had lots of fun putting in a new pink shower room.

MY FAVOURITE PART

I love the living room as the natural light streams through there. During the dark winter months, we get the projector out and watch Christmas movies against the white wall.
