Lydia, s room

‘Lydia loves the Disney film, Encanto, set in South America, and wanted it as a theme in her room. There are lots of bright colours and cacti in the movie so when I spotted this mural wallpaper, from I Love Wallpaper, I knew it was perfect. I did the wallpapering myself but I found it really hard; my own fault as I’m impatient and didn’t wait to get a proper ladder. We found some rustic shelves that added to the look, and I gave Lydia some fun, removable cactus stickers so she can move them about as she likes.’

Although Katie went for a bold cactus theme, the muted colours mean the pattern doesn’t overwhelm the room. The rattan mirror is from Matalan and the drawers are from La Redoute
