“Worst House in the Best Village”

Editorial Director Jason Orme and his family have recently completed a sizeable renovation and remodel of this 1960s property. “It was the archetypal worst house in the best village — but it had a nice feel and we could imagine our family here for years to come,” Jason says.

Jason’s plans, which have seen 40m2 added to the 270m2 home, included a bigger kitchen space, a better layout, an exterior makeover, energy improvements, the rebuild of a dormer bedroom, and a more impressive master bedroom arrangement — all for a budget of £130,000.
