My favourite antique

If I were to nominate an item to be one of Britain’s Favourite Antiques for the feature in your May issue, I would have chosen English rocking horses. As everyone knows, Britain is a nation of horse lovers, and this is re!ected in the sheer beauty of the rocking horses produced in England from the 17th century up to the present day. These horses are sought a"er all over the world and I believe no other country has produced such #ne examples of workmanship. I restore antique rocking horses and it is an absolute joy to put a broken and neglected example back to how it would have looked when new – o"en they’re over 100 years old.
