Lots to love

-

From porcelain to portraits, these are just three highlights from Sworders’ upcoming art and antiques auction

COPELAND TWO-HANDLED VASE (£400-£600)

The base of the porcelain gilded vase is inscribed ‘Copeland’s China, England’ and is made in ‘Goldsmith’ shape. The handles on the late 19th-century vase depict two swan’s heads.

WILLIAM AND MARY WALNUT ARMCHAIR (£1,000-£1,500)

Expect this late 17th-century armchair to be sought after by period furniture lovers and for the price to shoot up as a result.

PORTRAIT MINIATURES (£3,000-£4,000)

Paintings Specialist Amy Scanlon’s favourite lot in the sale, these five 18th and 19th-century portrait miniatures, in an elaborately moulded and cut leather openwork frame, are quite unique.
