A life­style and travel writer for 20 years, and for­mer ed­i­tor of France Mag­a­zine, Carolyn has an in- depth knowl­edge of the coun­try. She also writes reg­u­larly for The Times, Na­tional Ge­o­graphic Trav­eller, The Guardian and sev­eral other na­tional pub­li­ca­tions. ‘I love the Ap­parte­ment Té­moin in Le Havre – a com­plete show flat set up to re­veal how these iconic 1950s homes would have looked in­side when the first res­i­dents moved in.’

Tom is a fur­ni­ture and light­ing de­signer who cre­ates prod­ucts out of wood us­ing the his­toric method of steam bend­ing. You may have seen his home, a mas­ter­piece of Tom’s steam- bend­ing abil­i­ties, on Chan­nel 4’s Grand De­signs.

‘ It’s the work of French prod­uct de­signer Ro­nan Bouroul­lec that I love, es­pe­cially his fur­ni­ture. He de­signed a range for Hay with his brother – look out for the Élé­men­taire chair.’

Penny is an Aus­tralia- born in­te­ri­ors and life­style pho­tog­ra­pher based in south Lon­don. She’s of­ten found trav­el­ling around the Bri­tish coun­try­side pho­tograph­ing cre­ative and in­spir­ing homes. When not shoot­ing, she usu­ally has a book in her hands. ‘ I love low-key, sim­ple de­sign and don’t think you can go wrong with a Parisian park chair, like the Lux­em­bourg arm­chair by Fer­mob.’
