Homes and Antiques Magazine - - ANTIQUES NOW -

The scandalous case of John Bingham, 7th Earl of Lucan, who disappeared without a trace over 40 years ago following the murder of his children’s nanny, has been subject to much media speculation. Now, the estate of his late wife, Lady Lucan, leads the Bonhams’ Private Collections Sale on 3rd October – with lots including a sullen portrait of Lord Lucan painted by Dominic Elwes (est £2,000-£3,000) and a Victorian silver trophy cup won by Lord Lucan during a game of backgammon (est £200-£300), both pictured right. All proceeds will be donated to the charity Shelter.
