Although the idea of a gooey, chocolate-!lled gateau may spring to mind, in the world of antiques, Black Forest refers to the furniture carved in and around Brienz, Switzerland, during the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Designs o"en feature wild animals including bears, deer and other woodland creatures.
