I am so delighted my friend gave me my !rst copy of Homes

& Antiques last month. I had a trip to Paris booked two weeks later as a surprise for my partner and I was really struggling with what to do over our weekend. It felt overwhelming with so many museums and sights. However, your article on the Saint Ouen flea markets inspired me, and we had a wonderful day of bargain hunting, coffee drinking and enjoying a long lunch in the Paris sun (it was 25 degrees in mid October!). My favourite !nd was this unusual, raised acrylic picture of Paris, dated 1951, for just 10 euros.

The weekend felt complete with a walk up the spiral staircase in the beautiful Sacré Coeur. And what followed next was entirely unexpected – a proposal from my partner, Kristian. It felt even more romantic with the Eiffel Tower in the distance…
