Well-travelled
I am a new subscriber to your wonderful magazine, and I love learning about what goes on in Britain: both old and new. In addition to seeing and admiring the beautiful homes, antiques and objects that you highlight, I enjoyed the piece on garden cemeteries in the July issue. It reminded me of my trip to the Recoleta necropolis in Buenos Aires. I believe our tour guide referred to this cemetery as the ‘Disneyland’ of cemeteries. I pulled out my photobook from that 2006 trip. The pictures weren’t the best (iPhones and their cameras weren’t around yet!) but I had two. It rained heavily that day but the !rst shows detailed carvings including the ‘life–sized’ angel at the door to the crypt. And, as a lover of cats, the second shows this li"le fellow napping, as if he knew the departed.
