renowned vintage and antique quilt collector and dealer Christopher Wilson-Tate will be exhibiting for the first time. Caroline has also gathered together fellow stitchers Penny Edwards, Liz Jones, Janine Pope, Karen Thomas and Cristina Rebeccani to create an open and inspiring space featuring exhibits of embroidered work, popular embroidery and textile workshops. We’re also delighted to welcome back regular exhibitors Norse Vintage and Brocante Living, both previous winners of ‘best stand in show’. Among new exhibitors are Kingsbridge Antiques, Daniela Lichters and Praise The Hoard, all excellent sellers.
What changes have you seen in fairs over the years? I think people increasingly want a unique experience, which is why we go to so much effort to create a special day that only happens once a year. Many people use the Fair as an excuse to visit the area, meet up with friends and get immersed in shopping for beautiful items.
As a fair-goer, what do you really enjoy? I love the buzz and anticipation at the start of a fair, and the never knowing what I’m going to find. It’s also fun to catch up with friends and other dealers. Shoppers love nothing more than having their search rewarded with a ‘show and tell’ over a well- earned cuppa at the end of the day!
What’s your favourite fair-buy to date? It has to be a set of four early 20th- century French reverse glass panels decorated with birds that I bought from Marina Adinolfi DeGiorgio Decorative. I fell in love with them and designed my whole bathroom around them! decorativelivingfair.co.uk
