Sculptural Screens

Plant hornbeam or beech hedges to create the effect of rhythmic waves as the leaves turn russet brown. Alternatively, install trellis panels across the width of the garden to create a series of rooms. (The Garden Trellis Co, gardentrellis.co.uk has a good choice). Use the gaps in between to allow glimpses of the planting beyond and to define a pathway through the seasonal highlights en route.
