COOL QUARZ

-

WITH an enviable record in young horse classes already to his credit, Cool Quarz boosted his CV still further by winning the winter six-year-old qualifier to British Showjumping’s (BS) spring championships.

Owner and rider Donny Janciauskas bought the Quarz gelding, bred by Gundula Henningsen, as an unbroken four-year-old and they have an outstanding record at home and away.

In their debut season two years ago, Donny and Cool Quarz finished as reserve four-year-old champions at the national championships and they returned to Stoneleigh last August to clinch the five-year-old title.

The pair maintained a consistent record on the 2017 national circuit, before finishing in the top 18 at the World Young Horse Championships in Lanaken last September.

“Cool Quarz ticks every box for me as he has such a good temperament, a snaffle mouth and is consistent and responsive,” said Donny. “This class was faster than I thought it would be, so we had to try everything. We have worked a lot on our flatwork to keep our turns smooth and it paid off today.”
