TOMMY GOODY

-

YOU would have to go a long way to see a better winning round than that from Surrey-based Tommy Goody, aged 10, in Saturday’s 90cm class on Hardwickview Yen Man (Max). Tommy, a member of the Bisley & Sandown Chase branch of the Pony Club, has also competed his former show pony in dressage, pony racing and cross-country, but he has one ambition.

“I want to be an international showjumper,” said Tommy, who was also among the joint-winners of both 11-and-under classes.

Tommy and Max started their affiliated career last May and made the jump-off of the stepping stones final at the national championships. His latest project was backing a 138cm pony that recently jumped in his first British novice class.

“He lives and breathes ponies,” said his mother, Kimberley Bailey.
