GENERAL IMPRESSION

-

“Tiger Roll’s not the biggest of racehorses but he actually covers plenty of ground when standing. He has strong limbs and lovely, sloping shoulders,” says bloodstock agent Tom Malone.

“He looks so tough and athletic, but the one thing we cannot see in this picture is the size of his heart. He must have a heart and a half to win a National like he did.

“The overall picture he gives is of a perfect little racehorse. Although you wouldn’t look at this picture and say, ‘There’s a Grand National winner’ — a champion hurdler perhaps, but not a National horse,” he adds.

“What makes Tiger Roll special is his ability to travel in third gear when others are tiring. He can maintain a cruising speed right up to the line — he’s a typical overachiever.

“He was bred to run on the Flat, but his sire, Authorized, is now producing some promising jump horses as well. So too is Authorized’s sire, Montjeu, whose offspring include champion hurdler Hurricane Fly.”
