TWO HOYS TICKETS FOR WILLIAM
ANOTHER 19-year-old making his mark was William Pittendrigh, who booked his HOYS Cuddy working hunter ticket with Silver Lough, a six-year-old gelding by Cew Bay Bouncer, before going on to take his intermediate ticket and the section championship over David Norlander’s technical track.
William, who is taking a year off from his academic studies to complete his BHSAI examinations, bought Silver Lough from Katrina Braithwaite as a four-year-old. He spends the winters hunting with the Tynedale in Northumberland and last year hunted side-saddle to raise money for Cancer Research.
“I came off a 13hh working hunter pony and onto an intermediate worker when I was 12 because I was so tall,” said William, another one to claim victory at the Royal Windsor in May, where he scooped the overall working hunter pony championship.
