‘SHE KNOWS HOW TO WIN’
FACUNDO PIERES’ 15.1hh chestnut mare Cube was named best playing pony — an award she also won here in 2015.
“I love Cube’s intelligence,” said Pieres. “She’s always strong and powerful, but what sets her apart is she knows how and when to win. This makes me so happy for my grooms.”
The Australian-bred 13-year-old is by the diminutive US thoroughbred Norman Pentaquad, who was born deformed with a tiny fifth foot growing out of one pastern. However, he was well-bred, by Riverman, and has ended up as a brilliant sire of polo ponies.
