KEEPING SPREE HAPPY

-

A CHANGE of plan paid dividends for Samantha Seaton and Rowbury Spree, with the pair leading intermediate section N from start to finish to record their first win together.

“We bailed on Blair as the preparation work for three-days just stresses him out,” explained Samantha. “We’ve tried lots of different things, but he gets really fractious and tense at the gallops so we have made the decision for now to run him only at one-days until we can get to the bottom of what’s causing it.”

The 10-year-old chestnut gelding is a quarter Suffolk and was bred by owner Diana Amesbury, who was at Wellington to witness his triumph.

“It’s so lovely for him to have this win as he’s always had the potential,” said Diana. “It’s been quite a journey, but I’m so pleased we have a happy pony again.”
