Scottish champions crowned at Blair
ELEVEN years after Rose Macpherson rode in the CCI3* at Blair, the Crieff-based rider returned to the same happy hunting ground to claim the BE100 Scottish championship.
Rose steered Ballingowan Carrie into pole position, completing on her dressage score of 29.3.
“This event is so special; I ride the cross-country courses here in my dreams and I felt quite emotional coming back,” she admitted.
“Ballingowan Carrie is still quite inexperienced and the cross-country was a big ask. We trotted in to the haggis fence because I knew she’d find it spooky, and she was very genuine at the double of angled brushes.”
Sophie Bultitude and Laghey Clover led from pillar to post in the BE90 championship. The pair upgraded to BE100 level last month and won at their first attempt, at Forgandenny.
“He loves his job,” said
Sophie.
