MINORITY MARES
BRITISH-BRED horses continued to be a minority, particularly in the five-yearolds, as were mares this year. Therefore Sarah Bullimore’s home-bred mare Coroyale was a rarity. She was the best placed of just five mares forward in the five-year-old class and the only one to finish in the top 20.
By Royaldik, she is out of Sarah’s four-star mare Lilly Corinne (by Lovis Corinth). There were more mares in the four-year-old final, with Ros Canter and Alex Fishpool’s seventh-placed Khaleesi judged the best of them. Another home-bred, Khaleesi is by Grafenstolz out of a mare by Bazaar’s Exclusive.
