Newbury-based rider and trainer Kim Seaby claimed the top two spots in both the inter I and inter I freestyle with two different horses at Keysoe. Lady Mornington’s Wiona G, a 12-year-old KWPN mare, was the winner of both classes, while Liz and Frank Connolly’s 10-year-old home-bred mare by Ragazzo, Razzle Dazzle, filled both runner-up spots.

“I’ve been riding Razzle Dazzle since she was at novice level [in 2014] and Wiona G for coming up to two years,” said Kim, who trains with Spencer Wilton. “Wiona G went to the advanced medium national championships last year and is doing the inter I championships this year. Both horses started inter I this year and I’d like to step them up to inter II by the end of the year.”

Kim’s rides also debuted their music for the first time, with Razzle Dazzle performing to Adele and Wiona G to a compilation featuring Titanium.

“I took a risk with Wiona and did two-time changes up the centre line, but it paid off as we got eights for them,”

Kim concluded.

Emma Woolley and MSJ Furstin Rosa topped the novice 37 with 72.22% — the highest score of the show.

Emma took on the ride of the five-year-old Furst Romancier mare in June this year.

“Her Indian owners have given her to me to produce up to prix st georges [PSG] in preparation for the Asian Games in 2022, at which their daughter is hoping to ride,” said Emma. “She is a lovely mare and I feel lucky to have the privilege of training her.”
