‘HE WOULDN’T LOAD’

-

BEING over 19hh, a bad loader and originally bought to sell on hasn’t held back Catherston Spring Rock, who won the medium silver accolade. Jeanette Taylor bought the nine-year-old by Catherston Springsteen as a yearling companion to her other horse.

“I was going to break him in and sell him because he was only supposed to make 16.2hh and I’m over 6ft, but he grew to over 19hh and has exceeded so many expectations,” mused Jeanette, who trains with Hannah Biggs.

“He hasn’t got a huge amount of miles on the clock because he’s not been the greatest at loading. I used to have to leave him overnight and come back for him the next day, and I even hacked back an hour from a show once because he wouldn’t load. I tried all sorts but nothing helped, so I spent months loading him daily and taking him everywhere. He’s much better and now I can confidently load him. This win has made up for all those frustrating times.”
