‘A FASCINATING SECTION’

NIGEL HOLLINGS, who co-judged the ridden coloureds with Philippa Hoyle, described his section as “fascinating”.

“The ring was sited on a slope that also had slight ridge and furrow, and this really transformed the class,” he explained.

“It was fascinating to see the partnerships that were obviously used to competing only on flat, level surfaces; several dropped onto the wrong leg, while those who were properly balanced and in self-carriage coped much better and came right up the line.”
