‘A DREAM COME TRUE’

-

ON a day when mares shone, Angela Hesketh’s stunning Fielding Fairytale (Dorris) earned a first HOYS ticket when heading the large riding horses, going on to stand section reserve.

“It’s a dream come true for me,” said Angela, who works full time as an account manager and now keeps Dorris with Peter Hodgkinson, having previously produced the mare herself.

“This was my last chance to qualify her, and I’ve always wanted to ride at HOYS. Dorris is for sale, but I’m secretly hoping I will be able to fulfil my ambition.”

The Demonstator eight-year-old, who has Whalton lines on her dam’s side, was bred by Angela’s mother, May Chatfield, at the Fielding Stud, which has sent out numerous winners including the 2005 HOYS supreme pony, Fielding Tom Sawyer.

“Dorris is really special,” added Angela of the former Equifest champion and TSR reserve supreme.

“When she gets into the ring, she sits right up and says ‘look at me’ — it gives me a buzz every time. She’s also so easy to do — she’s one in a million.”
