Nicola Wilson’s 2014 World Equestrian Games ride has retired to the hunting field. The 14-year-old mare won silver at the young horse World Championships in 2010, had top-10 finishes at CCI4* and wins at three-star.

Karim Laghouag’s 2016 Olympic eventing team gold medal-winning ride has died aged 13 after a bout of colic. One of the most successful stallions in top-level eventing, he was gelded last year.
The Anglo-Arab stallion has died aged 21. “Arthur”, who stood at stud for 19 years, stood supreme at the Anglo and Part-Bred Arab Championship as a yearling and retired as champion veteran at Suffolk County.
