RARE BREEDS: REGISTRATION CALL

OWNERS of rare-breed equines are urged to remember to register births.

Summer is normally the time many people register animals with breed societies as sales and county shows approach. But with events cancelled owing to the pandemic, the Rare Breeds Survival Trust (RBST) believes some owners may overlook registration, which it warned would be a setback for conservation.

RBST CEO Christopher Price said: “Registration is crucial for rare breed conservation. Every registration helps to give us a more accurate picture of the status of each rare breed.”
