WHAT A BEAUTY!
NAIL and beauty technician Wendy Spence does not have a long commute to work – “I have a studio at the bottom of the garden” – but nevertheless, juggling work, looking after her two-year-old son and riding her Forgandenny (3) BE80(T) winner, Kiladorans Valentino (Rudi), still requires a mindboggling set of logistics.
“I keep Rudi at a livery yard five miles away in St Andrews, but I try to manage my diary so that I can ride most days,” said
Wendy, for whom this was a first foray into affiliated eventing. “Dressage isn’t really my thing, but I guess we will have to do some more now!”
Wendy was set to sell Rudi when she had her son, but then changed her mind at the last minute.
“He’s sharp and I went through a spell of falling off him, but having some time off while I was pregnant did him good and he came back much more level-headed,” she said.
