FAMILY-RUN TEAM SCORES DOUBLE
BRONWEN EVANS achieved a double when two charges under her instruction took both champion and reserve in the open working hunter pony championship with sibling jockeys. Title holder was the 153cm victor, 15-year-old mare Carnsdale Beltane Poppy (pictured) ridden by India Wheeler. India’s older sister, Ella, settled for reserve on the eight-year-old intermediate A Kind Of Magic. Both ponies are owned by Alice Barnes and Bronwen runs the Wheeler’s yard from their family base in Buckinghamshire.
“Both Ella and India have both recently returned to university in Edinburgh,” explained Bronwen. “Logistics are slightly more complicated now but we thought this was a handy show to meet at now we’re all travelling from different directions.”
