And finally... baby on board

-

AN eventer nearly welcomed her new baby in a horsebox, but got to hospital in the nick of time.

Bonnie Fishburn started having contractions at midnight before a show but believed it to be a false alarm, and proceeded to bathe her miniature Shetland Mr Pegs at 6am, ready for his outing.

As the intervals between contractions became shorter and Bonnie “less chatty”, her mum turned to her and said, ‘You’re in labour, aren’t you?”

Mr Pegs was taken home after winning his class, and Bonnie turned three horses out before her husband Tom Hollins drove her to the hospital, where baby Edward arrived shortly afterwards.

“It’s all gone very well, but it could have been a different story – I could have had him in the horsebox!” she said.
