ADAM TAYLOR claimed the BDA Equestrian five-year-old final from the front of a 22-horse decider on Kwikzilver W. “I expected someone to beat me, I didn’t realise how fast I’d gone,” said Adam, who bought the Dakar VDL x Burggraaf grey 18 months ago. “He’s big so I took my time, and in the big rings on the Spanish Sunshine Tour we built a partnership. He’s bold – there’s nothing he won’t jump – and he’s the only horse I know who gained weight while travelling to Spain; he’s always had a big belly but has matured now.”
