MINI-MAJOR SUCCESS

NELLIE LOCK took inspiration from Grand National champion Pineau De Re, whizzing to mini-major victory in his winning colours aboard Ellies Miss Chief (pictured) with the help of Lara Whiteway and Ultima.

Early leaders Brooke Harland (Farchynys Sienna) and Rebecca Marsh (Fluttershy) proved hard to beat, but Nellie and Lara rose to the challenge. A stride out to the last for Nellie and a quick round from Lara sliced just over a second off the leading team’s time.
