‘Thank you for keeping our sport alive’

THE concluding four-star grand prix at Hubside Jumping in Saint Tropez resulted in victory for Germany’s Daniel Deusser riding Scuderia 1918 Tobago Z, collecting a €25,000 top prize.

“Tobago had to take some time out at the beginning of the year and started competing again mid-season in small classes. He is recovering well and is getting better and better, to the extent that he was able to win the grand prix today,” said Daniel. “This year has been extremely difficult for all the riders. Thank you [to Hubside Jumping’s organising team] for keeping our sport alive.”

Britain’s representatives,

Scott Brash on last week’s grand prix winner Hello Jefferson and Alexandra Thornton (Cornetto K), had one fence apiece in round one.

US rider Laura Kraut landed the CSI2* grand prix at the show on the eight-year-old Emerald son, Goldwin, while the British national anthem rang out after the one-star equivalent when Tess Carmichael and her 11-year-old Chin Chin mare, Bangle SR, soared home over a second clear of her rivals.
